Children ages 8-17, may have a free ride in an FAA certified aircraft with a licensed pilot on the morning of the fly-in (Sept 12) beginning about 9:00AM. These rides are courtesy of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) & are limited to the first 75 applicants who complete and return the attached registration (PDF). This year we're extending a special invitation to children with disabilities but it's still on a first-come-first-serve basis, so don't wait 'till the last minute to e-mail your request.
Note to parents: Children with conditions that, in the confined space of a small aircraft, might present a flight safety risk, will not be able to fly. The rally directors & pilots will confer with parents of children with disabilities on the day of the fly-in, but will have ultimate determination on who can fly.
In case a child can’t fly safely, we want to emphasize that there are still plenty of other activities that all children with disabilities can be involved in.
To reserve your free ride, do the following...
1. Print & read the attached brochure.
2. Fill out the last two pages including a signature from a parent.
3. Forward the names & ages (8-17 years only) of those intending to fly on Saturday morning, Sept 12 to Dave Fullmer via e-mail. If those names are among the first 75 received, you'll get an e-mail confirmation back.
4. Present the completed, original registration & the kid's who've registered to fly to the EAA official at the Mt Pleasant airport on the morning of Sept 12th by 9:30 AM.
No-show's spots will be given to standbys at the airport on the morning of the 12th beginning at 9:30 AM
